Toulouse, August 12th 2025

Following a framework agreement signed a few days ago, Infinite Orbits will provide the French Ministry of Defence with an Orbit Guard™ satellite, with a launch date of 2027. This satellite capable of GEO passive and active surveillance fits within the framework of ARES program ("Space Action and Resilience") led by the Directorate General of Armament (DGA) and for the benefit of the French Space Command (CDE).

Orbit Guard™

A collaboration between a Newspace company and the French Space Command

As a beneficiary of the France 2030 investment plan for space innovation these past three years, Infinite Orbits has accelerated its technology development through a Newspace approach, including for the Orbit Guard™ servicers. This project allows the French Space Command to benefit from this technology breakthrough to increase its own capacities. This first collaboration contributes to the protection of strategic French and European assets through the development of French Newspace.

“In recent years, our team has focused on developing innovative technologies that enable satellites to acquire new capabilities: surveillance, approach, and docking in orbit. We chose to develop these technologies using a Newspace approach, pragmatic and cost-effective, enabling the rapid deployment of our servicers. Today, we are honored that this approach can be used to improve the operational preparation of CDE protecting the GEO belt.” - Marion Andrieux, CCO of Infinite Orbits

Orbit Guard™ : a micro satellite to protect GEO orbit

Infinite Orbits will provide the French Ministry of Defence with PALADIN satellite, from its family of Orbit Guard™ servicers. This GEO microsatellites fleet is developed with a double capacity : passive surveillance with a space-based SSA set of sensors and active surveillance with proximity inspection capability. Equipped with Infinite Orbits’ patented Autonomous Navigation Vision Based solution allowing for the ability to safely rendezvous with another satellite, Orbit Guard™ satellites can approach within one kilometer of another asset in orbit. Its agility and responsiveness also derives from its size, being a micro satellite capable of proximity operations with a mass weight of approximately 100 kg.
