Established in 2017, Infinite Orbits is a NewSpace company based in Toulouse, pushing the boundaries of in-orbit services with cutting-edge spacecraft driven by its own Rendezvous solution, an advanced Autonomous Vision-Based Navigation Solution. Our key projects include
"Orbit Guard" a nanosatellite capable of monitoring objects in GEO orbit, and "Endurance" a docking service extending customer satellites' lifespans by 5 years.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Systems Engineering Intern to join our dynamic and international team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in building new satellite platforms and Space rendezvous payloads that are shaping the future of in-orbit services.
Job Description
Develop new subsystems and payloads for IO’s missions.
Work closely with the CTO and the Product Owner to finalize design trade-offs and set up the industrial consortium.
Help the maturation toward the PDR and CDR of the spacecraft/subsystem design by identifying all the activities, analyses and simulations to be performed.
Apply wisely the right standards to ensure the safety and reliability of the mission while keeping a new space approach.
Track and document requirements/design changes with processes and findings.
Help coordinate the various engineering teams in the development phase and identify gaps and inconsistencies between various designs and requirements.
Ensure overall Sub-System alignment with project schedule, cost and performance.
Requirements
Eligibility:
Students doing a Master’s degree or equivalent, specifically in the field of Autonomous systems/Aerospace/Space Engineering, currently based in France or EU citizens residing anywhere and available for a minimum of 5 to 6 months
internship OR
PhD students residing anywhere and available for a minimum of 3 months.
Knowledge of satellite architectures, subsystems, flight Dynamics, control systems and space environments.
Basic knowledge of CAD Design and electronic circuit theory
Coding skills in Matlab/Simulink
Developed concepts for mobile systems/vehicles with regard to prototyping, autonomy, FDIR and situational awareness.
Excellent abstraction and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Pro-activeness and ability to work in a self-directed, fast-paced and result-oriented environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English.
Nice to Have:
Experience working with university satellite projects.
Ability to write clear requirements and verification/validation methodologies.
Communications system (Radios, antennas and link budgets).
Interest in the space industry and NewSpace initiatives.
