About the Role
The main mission of the Business Lawyer is to act as a business partner with the rest of the team while protecting the company’s interests. His/her role is to review, draft, and negotiate complex contracts in the space sector, including contracts for highly innovative products and services, and involves safeguarding the company’s interests through robust protection of intellectual property rights, compliance with export control regulations, and proactive legal risk management.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer (former Lawyer).
Job Description
Support the project manager in the suppliers’ contracts negotiation: review, draft and negotiate contracts with suppliers and partners (such as satellite equipment’s procurement and launch contracts).
Support the CCO in the customers’ contracts negotiation: Review, draft and negotiate customer contracts for innovative services (rendezvous, inspection, life extension in orbit).
Manage the discussions with the insurance companies for our assets (third party liability, property damage liability etc.)
Identify the IP to be protected and implement adequate measures (contracts, licenses, patents, trademarks etc.).
Identify the applicable export control regulations and implement the adequate measures.
Skills
Ability to analyze legal and contractual risks in conjunction with the project team.
Ability to synthesize and quantify risks in order to enable a balanced and pragmatic approach, in conjunction with company management.
Ability to explain identified risks and recommended actions in an educational manner.
Strong background in space contracts negotiation - ability to negotiate contracts with suppliers, partners, and customers, including strategic and space-specific contracts (including launch contracts).
Proficiency in professional English (in Infinite Orbits' team, we speak English).
Autonomy.
Requirements
The candidate must :
Have at least 5 years' experience as a lawyer in a space company.
Have a Master's degree (Bac +5y) or equivalent in business law or international law.
Speak English (at least at a professional level).
