"Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO. Our first, OG-1 was launched on 1 May 2023, the second is launching in 2025 and the third launching in 2026.
Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.
About the Role
We are seeking a Robotics Intern to join our team for 6 months. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and testing of a robotic arm system for satellite docking missions, integrating advanced control algorithms and ensuring reliable operation in space.
Job Description
Contribute to the development, integration and testing of the Endurance docking system which includes robotic elements such as Gripper and 6 DOF Robotic arm and vision navigation system
Develop control algorithms for robotic arms (inverse kinematics, path planning, collision avoidance etc) and integrate with the existing software and hardware chain.
Collaborate with the Rendez-vous GNC team to integrate pose-estimation algorithms and multi-body dynamics algorithms.
Collaborate with the Space Systems team to integrate the docking system with the Endurance platform.
Develop and maintain a simulation environment using Matlab Simulink and other tools.
Plan and execute test campaigns with partners laboratories, such as air-bearing or robotic laboratories.
Plan and execute test campaigns with the Flight Software team.
Prepare technical documentation and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Requirements
Pursuing a Master’s Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Automation, Aerospace engineering or equivalent higher qualification.
Bachelor’s Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Automation, Aerospace engineering or equivalent higher qualification.
Hands-on experience with robotic arms and real-time robotics systems.
Strong background in robotics and in control theory.
Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
Knowledge of simulation tools like Simscape (or equivalent multibody dynamics software), MATLAB/Simulink.
Experienced in CAD software such as Solidworks or CATIA.
Pro-activeness and ability to work in a self-directed, fast-paced and result-oriented environment.Â
Excellent communication skills.Â

PhD students residing anywhere and available for a minimum of 3 months.
Good to have:Â
Master's degree in a related field.Â
Experience in the development of spacecraft design and operations.Â
Experience in visual-servoing of a robotic arm.
Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 for simulation purposes.
Knowledge of ROS.
The French Language is a plus.Â
