About the Company
Established in 2017, Infinite Orbits is a NewSpace company, based in Toulouse, pushing the boundaries of in-orbit services with cutting-edge spacecraft driven by its own Rendez-Vous solution, an advanced Autonomous Vision-Based Navigation Solution. IO has two generations of missions
"Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO. Our first, OG-1 was launched on 1 May 2023, the second is launching in 2025 and the third third launching in 2026.
"Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.
About the Role
We are seeking a Satellite Propulsion Architect to develop the propulsion systems of IO’s satellites. The ideal candidate should have experience in building and testing propulsion technologies and a deep understanding of the challenges in space propulsion.
Job Description
Lead the design and development of the electrical propulsion subsystems for a GEO mission profile (electric with orbit raising, stationkeeping with thruster arm).
Responsible for the specification of the propulsion system and dedicated equipments.
Responsible for qualification of the subsystem:
Prepare and manage system level propulsion coupling tests for development and AIT validation.
Oversee testing and validation performed by suppliers.
Make sure that the qualification and validation logic is in line with IO quality levels/standards.
Propose propulsion system architecture including on-ground and in-orbit operations (testing, filling, gauging).
Prepare the in-orbit operation in collaboration with the team in charge of operations.
Build ICD and user manuals for operation of the propulsion systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, thermal management, and power systems, to ensure seamless integration of propulsion systems.
Stay current with the latest advancements in propulsion technologies and space mission requirements, and apply this knowledge to ongoing and future projects.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and performance reports.
