About the Role
The Junior Satellite Electrical Power Engineer supports the design, analysis, integration, and testing of spacecraft electrical power systems for satellite missions. This role involves working with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop reliable and efficient power architectures including solar arrays, batteries, power distribution units, and power conditioning electronics.
The position is suited for early-career engineers with foundational knowledge in electrical engineering and an interest in spacecraft systems, power electronics, and satellite operations.
Job Description
Assist in the design and development of spacecraft electrical power subsystems (EPS).
Support power budget development and analysis for satellite missions.
Contribute to the selection and sizing of:
Solar arrays
Battery systems
Power converters and regulators
Protection and distribution hardware
Perform electrical analyses including:
Load analysis
Efficiency calculations
Battery charge/discharge analysis
Power margin assessments
Support subsystem integration, functional testing, and troubleshooting activities.
Prepare engineering documentation including:
Technical reports
Test procedures
Interface control documents
Requirements verification matrices
Participate in design reviews and technical meetings.
Collaborate with systems, avionics, thermal, mechanical, and AIT teams.
Assist with anomaly investigations during integration and test phases.
Support compliance with ECSS, NASA, or customer engineering standards.
Typical Duties and Deliverables

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
Fundamental understanding of:
Electrical circuits
Power electronics
Analog and digital electronics
Embedded systems fundamentals
Familiarity with engineering analysis and simulation tools.
Basic understanding of satellite subsystems and spacecraft environments.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Strong organizational skills.
