"Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO. Our first, OG-1 was launched on 1 May 2023, the second is launching in 2025 and the third third launching in 2026.
"Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.
About the Role
The FPGA Engineer plays a crucial role in optimising the performance of the spacecraft's embedded flight software. By analysing software execution, identifying performance bottlenecks, and designing hardware accelerators and interfaces in FPGA, they ensure the high efficiency and reliability of mission-critical systems.The assigned missions and tasks are subject to evolution and under the employer's direction.
Job Description
Profile and analyse the performance of embedded flight software to identify optimisation opportunities.
Design and implement hardware accelerators in FPGA to improve system performance and efficiency.
Develop and integrate interfaces between FPGA and other system components to enhance data flow and processing capabilities.
Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless integration of FPGA solutions with flight software.
Conduct thorough testing and validation of FPGA designs to verify their performance and reliability under mission conditions.
Document design decisions, implementation details, and testing protocols for future reference and compliance purposes.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in FPGA technology and embedded systems to improve system designs and practices continually.
Requirements
Proficiency in FPGA development environments and languages, such as VHDL or Verilog.
Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and software performance profiling.
Experience in designing and implementing hardware accelerators and interfaces for embedded systems.
Knowledge of digital signal processing and system-on-chip (SoC) technologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams.
Required degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Level of experience: At least 3 years of experience in FPGA development, focusing on performance optimisation and hardware acceleration.
Know-how:
Advanced techniques in performance profiling and bottleneck analysis for embedded systems.
Expertise in hardware acceleration to improve software execution times and system reliability.
Development and integration of custom interfaces within FPGA to enhance system capabilities.
