About the Company
Established in 2017, Infinite Orbits is a NewSpace company, based in Toulouse, pushing the boundaries of in-orbit services with cutting-edge spacecraft driven by its own Rendez-Vous solution, an advanced Autonomous Vision-Based Navigation Solution. IO has two generations of missions
"Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO. Our first, OG-1 was launched on 1 May 2023, the second is launching in 2025 and the third third launching in 2026.
"Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.
About the Role
As a Data Handling System (DHS) Architect for Infinite Orbits’ GEO satellite missions, you will define, design, and validate the spacecraft’s onboard data handling architecture. You’ll specify functional and performance requirements for the DHS subsystem, interface with onboard software and avionics teams, and ensure full integration and verification of DHS functions throughout Assembly, Integration, and Testing phases.
Job Description
Define onboard DHS architecture, including central OBC, mass memory, TM/TC interfaces, and data buses (RS-422, Ethernet, CAN).
Specify redundancy logic and autonomous switching mechanisms; maintain functional ICDs with onboard and external systems.
Develop FDIR strategies and implement software monitoring capabilities for DHS.
Coordinate with AIT teams to define and review DHS functional test procedures, TM/TC validation campaigns using EGSE/CCS, and interface verification (electrical, software, protocol).
Support development and automation of test scripts for PUS service verification; lead DHS-related test readiness reviews and resolve anomalies during integration.
Review supplier deliverables, test reports, and integration plans for DHS equipment.
Validate end-to-end TM/TC data flows in simulations, hardware-in-the-loop setups, and the final spacecraft configuration.
Interface with Ground Segment teams to validate SCOS MIBs and operational TM/TC logic.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Avionics, Embedded Electronics, or related field.
5+ years of professional experience in satellite avionics or onboard data systems architecture.
Deep understanding of ECSS-E-ST-70-41 (PUS), CCSDS TM/TC protocols, and avionics redundancy concepts.
Proven experience testing DHS at unit and system level during AIT campaigns.
Familiarity with SCOS-2000, EGS-CC, or equivalent checkout systems.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical reviews, produce interface documentation, and support AIT test phases.
Clear written and verbal communication skills in English for technical documentation and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Python or Tcl-based TM/TC scripting in AIT environments.
Hands-on use of real-time simulation tools (e.g., SIMSAT, emulators).
Prior involvement in payload or platform TM/TC ICD validation.
Experience collaborating with flight software integration teams.
If you meet these qualifications and are ready to shape the onboard data handling architecture for GEO satellite missions, we encourage you to apply.
What we offer
The opportunity to be part of an international team transforming the space industry.
A creative and innovative work environment where ideas turn into reality.
Competitive salary and benefits.
