About the Company

We are a deeptech Newspace company. Following 3 years of artificial intelligence development at Stanford and Singapore, the team has now settled in Toulouse in 2020 to start its In-Orbit Servicing activities.

Our Mission is to offer Satellites Operators a competitive way of managing their fleet, from Inspection & Surveillance to Life Extension Services. Space Infrastructure is growing and so the need for maintaining the assets in orbits. We believe that Space Sustainability can be enhanced now by providing on orbit services and later, by supporting debris removal actions with proven technologies.

Our First 2 satellites are scheduled for launch in Q4 2022 and Q1 2023 in GEO Orbit enabling a steady revenue stream for the next stage development of our technologies.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Operations & Ground Segment Engineer to prepare the future of our operations.

The Operations & Ground Segment Engineer is part of the R&D team and lead the definition of the Ground Segment for current and future missions, and supports the flow down of operations constraints.


What you will be doing:

  • Establish requirements for ground segment items, e.g. ground stations, mission operation center, spacecraft control center, payload control center, networks, incl. IT infrastructure as well as data centers

  • Conduct and follow-up conceptual design activities in the area of ground systems engineering, including but not limited to requirement, interface, user data and management data flow within the ground segment as well as TM/TC interfaces

  • Participate and conduct the creation of mission control & operation control capabilities

  • Elaborate system trade-offs in the area of ground segment engineering and support the overall system architecture definition

  • Support Spacecraft Operations team

Requirements

A bit about you:


  • University Master degree or equivalent, preferably in Space Engineering, Microwave, Telecommunications, Electronics or other related Engineering disciplines

  • 3+ years relevant experience in Ground Station engineering (i.e. front-end architectures as well as baseband design) for GEO satellite missions

  • Experience in design, development, integration, verification, operations  of Ground Systems and associated processes and operational procedures, Preferably Phase B/C/D/E experience

  • knowledge in associated areas such as TT&C, ranging, monitoring & control (M&C), servo and air-conditioning engineering

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and encryption is a plus
